Equality Team Update

Well– the sign is up. We think it looks so fabulous. We thought we would take a picture of it for you.

Also, as we’re sure you know, last week was world book day and all the classes were busy making story sacks. Have a look in our library– they look great. All the children did a super job.

We would especially like to thank Class Jupiter though as they chose one of the new equality books– ‘The Colour of Home’. It’s all about a little boy called Hassan, who, because of a war in his country Somalia,  has to leave to find safety in England. The book tells the story of Hassan and how he settles into his new school and makes new friends.

Jupiter have done a fantastic job and have filled the bag with activities , tasks, information and maps to go along with the book.

From the Equality Team!

Over the last few weeks, the BBS E-Team have been very busy. We have been evaluating BBS using an equality audit to ensure our resources and school environment promote diversity and equality for all in our school.   Already, we are making changes.

The children have chosen some new books and toys which have already been distributed around school.

Very soon, many of the books will also be available  to be borrowed– have a look on our very own Junior Librarian website.

We have also ordered a fantastic new sign to be placed in the entrance to our school. Once up, see if you can you spot how many different languages there are.

Have a look at the photos!
